This does call for a better definition of board member election eligibility rules at the chapters and WMF. It is surprising that there does not seem to be well thought out induction program for new members with one of the experienced board member as a mentor. If there was such a process and implemented well, the present problem could have been nipped in the bud or managed better. Hi Patricio, I am saddened to hear that the discussions about governance had to result in removal of a board member. If such a thing is not available, it would also help if you can inform the date by which it is available. This would also help for any potential candidates for the next election/appointment. Re: [Wikimedia-l] (Announcement) CIS-A2K Program Director Transition
Hi, Thanks Subhashish for the update. Thank you Vishnu, for your leadership of CIS-A2K team over the past two years in growing the Wikipedia movement across India in various languages. It is not an easy job to work in the open wikimedia movement as a staff member of NGO funded by Foundation. I am happy that various language wikipedias got some dedicated resources to support the movement and have seen some impact for which some of the credit certainly goes to you and your team. An example of the growth of Telugu wikipedia can be seen on my Telugu blogpost[1]. I am sorry to hear that you are leaving the role, as it really takes a long time to develop good understanding of the wiki movement and that knowledge can't be passed on easily. I hope that the CIS-A2K uses the opportunity to reflect and plan for the future to improve the effectiveness of the engagement even further. I wish Vishnu and CIS-A2K team all the best. We at CIS are working with Vishnu and the rest of the A2K team to ensure smooth transition so that the momentum of the A2K program does not lose pace. ___ Wikimedia-l mailing list, guidelines at: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mailing_lists/Guidelines Wikimedia-l@lists.wikimedia.org Unsubscribe: https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikimedia-l, mailto:wikimedia-l-requ...@lists.wikimedia.org?subject=unsubscribe
