And more specifically, are we able to place any interviews with Wikimedia members under a Creative Commons license (with the interviewee's permission)? Or does a joint copyright need to be a precondition of the interview? Generally it is the publisher who holds copyright and not the interviewee. Might be worth looking into for future. I know Free Culture advocates often place their interviews under CC, but I'm not sure of the logistics/legal details of it. I think we could look at a dual-copyright agreement for any interviews with WMA. Hi, I just did a bit of an interview with Rachael Brown for the ABC radio show 'PM'. Apparently it is on twice an evening: Radio National 5.10pm, and ABC local (774 in Melbourne) at 6.10pm. Here's hoping it sounds OK, if someone could make a digital recording somehow that would be ace :) cheers Brianna -- They've just been waiting in a mountain for the right moment: http://modernthings.org/ ___ Wikimediaau-l mailing list Wikimediaau-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikimediaau-l

2009/1/27 Gnangarra gnanga...@gmail.com: So what is WM-au position on flagged revisions? There is no WMAU position on flagged revisions (FR). Did you notice one? I don't think anybody too much cares about WMAU's position on anything just yet. :) It was more a here is a local expert angle (and yes I am far from an expert, but compared to people who aren't involved I might look like one, and I am undeniably local :)). AFAIK there is no WMF position on it either. It is a matter for the community to decide. She asked about the vandalism, which prompted Jimmy's call, and I gave some basic info about what the proposal involves and how it would work, and mentioned that dewp and others have been running it for a number of months. I also mentioned the argument that Jimmy has made, that you can interpret it as a move towards greater openness because it would mean less reliance on protection and semi-protection for BLPs. Eek, yes I heard it online via Sydney local radio. I was quoted verbatim but they used the second half of my quote, meaning that the part where I said that BLP was the biggest challenge to the encyclopaedia at present and that this was agreed by most, and that a solution was required, but the question was over the technical merits of this particular proposal. 2009/1/27 Mark Hurd markeh...@gmail.com NewsRadio is reporting the issue now. Re: [Wikimediaau-l] Fwd: ABC's 'PM' covering Wikipedia Flagged Revs proposal
(whoops, pressed send by accident) ... was omitted entirely. The bit they did quote ran something like, the needs of the encyclopaedia for neutral reliable articles and the needs of the community which maintained the articles needed to be balanced, and that there was a risk that in effect we might end up favouring one perspective over another based simply on the length of time people had been around. 2009/1/27 Andrew orderinchao...@gmail.com Eek, yes I heard it online via Sydney local radio.
