The new policy is unconventional in how it provides expansive use of the Wikimedia marks. Thanks to the community’s collaboration, the policy is more readable, thorough, and consistent with our values. The Board also approved our recommendation to withdraw trademark registration and protection for the Community logo.[2] We will now initiate withdrawal of US and worldwide registrations. In the latest project at Schwerin (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) we added videos, politicians give a short introduction about themselves, their position and political focus in German and in their mother tongue if different from German. About 20 photographers were able to participate and processes how to work with the parliament's administration, how to interact with the politicians, how to efficiently take a lot of photos in a short time and with good quality have been established. == Next Level: European Parliament == Now we would like to take this to next level: After contacting the European Parliament I was able to get their approval, the support by the parties and a date! Unfortunately the date is already in February, 3rd to 7th, as we have to use the short time gap between budget deliberations and elections. MEPs only travel to the EP when deliberations are ongoing but then they are also busy with meetings, as soon as the election preperation starts there won't be any time for our project within the next 6 months. Anyway I am sure we can do that - the elections are also a great opportunity to raise awareness on our material we have in Wikipedia and on Commons. It is also an excellent opportunity to bring together volunteers in doing our core work together, maybe we can transfer the idea of Parliament Projects to other countries. Volunteers get the opportunity to learn from each other - the EP is a very challenging project, having more than 700 MEPs to be handled within a few days. And Wikipedia may improve its articles, also by bringing together volunteers from different EU countries. Many MEPs have their articles only in a few of the European languages, some not even in their native language! == Your Chapter Involved == We are looking forward to get volunteers from as many countries as possible involved in this project. In order to be handle it we need approx. 35 people to help. Obviously the german and austrian photographers are already waiting for it, from past projects they already know what will go on. But there is much more to it: We want your volunteers! Imagine a project where we could bring together volunteers from all 24 language communities in the EU - that is what we are trying! It has a very peculiar approach. All its exhibitions try to unpack culture and knowledge. They focus on the meta-discourse, and they use an historiographical approach, they detect critical issues, and they show how categories shape our perception of culture and the world. There is also a strong research work behind the exhibitions. I think it can be a very interesting place to develop an exhibition related to Wikipedia. Maybe we could envision an exhibition for 2015. Pour ceux qui s'en souviennent, on s'est lancés dans cet appel avec un petit groupe de français et de wikimédiens québécois, pour une candidature commune Wikimédia France / Wikimédia Canada : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia:Forum_mondial_de_la_langue_fran%C3%A7aise Nous avons proposé plusieurs projets qui ont été vraiment très bien reçus et au final, nous avions pendant la semaine : - 4 wikimédiens à demeure (Antoine Letarte, Simon Villeneuve, Olier Raby pour le Québec, moi-même pour la France, Thierry n'ayant pu au dernier moment nous accompagner) avec un peu de renfort un jour dans la semaine - un stand avec en avant un espace pour discuter avec les gens, et derrière un espace avec des tables et chaises et de quoi installer 6 ordinateurs pour apprendre aux gens à contribuer sur Wikipédia - une table ronde sur la place du français sur les projets Wikimédia (par Simon) - une table ronde où on a parlé des projets éducatifs autour de Wikipédia (par Antoine) et du projet Afripedia (moi) - une place de grand témoin pour conclure la journée sur le numérique le jeudi, assurée par moi-même, et bonne tribue pour faire passer des messages d'ouverture des contenus etc :) La semaine est passée à toute vitesse, je vous livre donc quelques points positifs et moins positifs sur cette semaine de présence à la grand-messe de la francophonie : 1/ positif Très bonne image de Wikipédia auprès des visiteurs du stand, des gens rencontrés en général, de l'accueil pendant les confs. On ne nous parle plus trop de soucis de fiabilité, mais plutôt de tout ce que Wikipédia apporte. En étant 4, nous avons pu globalement satisfaire la demande au stand (même si parfois c'était limite). Un coup de chapeau spécial à Olier qui a tenu bon toute la semaine :) On a au final une grosse vingtaine de gens qui ont fait leurs premières contributions, certains s'étant directement pris au jeu et continuant à contribuer, pour d'autres on a semé une graine, on ne peut qu'espérer qu'elle germera... Les gens venus nous voir étaient à 80% d'Afrique centrale et de l'Ouest à vue de nez. Pas mal de gens du Maghreb aussi, et des francophones des pays de l'Est (Roumanie, Ukraine etc) Les tables rondes ont été très appréciées, on a senti l'assentiment et l'intérêt des gens non seulement pour nos projets mais aussi pour l'esprit qu'on y met J'avais emporté un plug Afripedia pour le montrer, il a été très très bien reçu par les gens vers qui le projet est tourné, c'est à dire les africains. Un responsable de centres numériques au Burkina Faso a même embarqué le plug, et on a pour objectif de monter un projet ensemble. Vrai plaisir de travailler en commun entre français et québécois, durant la préparation et le déroulement du forum. Outre le plaisir de se rencontrer réellement au final (en plus d'après Olier, finalement je ne suis pas si chiante que j'en avais l'air, victoire ! :D), il y a ce côté enthousiasmant de voir qu'on peut monter des projets intéressants parce qu'on partage la même langue, et que la francophonie ça a

Dear all, During the last Year wolf Ludwig has been mandated by the board to assure the representation of WMCH in the TAO project, and then assure the lead of two sub-projects. Last month, Wolf has been suspended as sub-project leader of the project TAO for the sub-projects 1 (Community Activities) and 7 (Public Relations / Community Relations. The reason of this suspension are mainly due to delays with important deliverables and a lack of reporting to the WMCH board or the TAO project coordinator. The committee reviewed the situation, especially in terms of its self organization in project management. As an immediate measure, the board decided to suspend Wolf as a coordinator for activities of WMCH related to the TAO project , and that I will assure the interim until the next general meeting. From now, the board would really appreciate that everyone involved in the TAO project, thought to keep me informed of any initiative or action, just to be able to have the big picture. A coordination page has been created on the WMCH wiki, http://www.wikimedia.ch/Projects/TAO, doesn't hesitate to use the discussion page! :-D Next Sunday morning, a strategic meeting will be held in Bern from 9h30 to 12h30.
