A consolidated list of all known mailing lists ( India related) is made
here.

Hey Gunit,
Its not all about sponsorship. We got a stall for free at the CMDA IT Expo
as well.
Infact, I just had a chat yesterday with one of my friends from Cummins
College of Engineering for Women regarding the outreach activities and she
was asking me how much do they have to pay to us for
Bishakha and I did a short session at VJTI during the previous edition of
the technical festival. Money never came up.
The kinds of places that are going to ask for money for these specific

Hi Pratik,
It is nice to get that kind of response from people. Maybe the scenario in

My two paise:
Point 1: I myself am a student, and I kind of agree with Srikanth on this
one. Students aren't really interested in learning to edit Wikipedia at a
fest. If I was a newbie, I wouldn't even look at the stall for more than
say once or twice.
A better idea is to have a photo scavenger
My 100 bucks on this :
Let's not make assumptions before we try it out. In the past we've done

people agree or not, whether it is successful; ALL
I think in my rather long email, you mistook my main point. My main point
was, lets not just restrict ourselves to tech fests. A re-read perhaps if
your wagering a 100 bucks against my 2 paise?? :)

FYI - since we are looking to start GLAM in India, I thought this would make an
interesting read. Answer to a petition for digitalising all Public Records in

As the petition response mentioned, the national archives do have a
wikipedian in residence currently - dominic mcdevitt-parks (User:Dominic.)
David Ferriero has also attended at least one Wikimedia related event
himself - he spoke at the public policy initiative wrapup in boston this
summer.
Dear all,
I am happy to inform you that a student who turned up at our 5th Delhi
meetup volunteered to help organize a Wiki academy in Jamia Milia Islamia.
We have an introductory meetup-academy on the 25th of January at 1:00 pm in
their college. Here is the link to the event:
