I didn't mean the vent extension, but what piece of hardware goes in between
your antenna and the pipe.

See my other post about Redline's comments and their FCC filed documents.
It just doesn't have the power.

The guys at Redline said their equipment is power limited due to FCC
limitations.
My point of view is based on Redline's statement of what their gear can do
coupled with the documents filed with the FCC for their certification.
The most I could get out of a PtP link was about 7 miles. With a 9

I think WISPCON and Part-15 decreased in attractiveness is directly related
to the increase in other wireless trade shows.
They all do basically the same thing, so the laws of supply and demand come
into play here.

I'd say you bandwidth throttle each individual connection ala PPPoE. Your
router\bandwidth management device on the tower has many ports for the
different radios on that tower.

I was reading this, and I just had to add my 2 cents (like anyone
cares.). If you are mounting on vent pipes, please use EXTREME
caution. On all of the newer homes, these pipes are PVC (The older cast
pipes are not a problem). The section of pipe that sticks out is usually
not supported
I buy all of mine through the local Direct TV installer. They sell them
to me at $4 a unit which is much lower than the price on the Pacwireless
website. I can also buy them from him in lots of 25 which is a great way
to purchase them.

However, it should be noted that Redline was not able to get their gear

Same here. I get them at $1 a piece. They probably have 1000 sitting

3.65 ghz rules allow 1 watt EIRP per each mhz of bandwidth, thus a 7.5

Watts EIRP ...
Redline cert does not reflect this... don't know why
Airspan certification does get really close to it
Mind me but 10 Watts EIRP if

There's no hatchet between wispa and p15. Some of the wispa board and a
lot of the wispa members and listers are active on p15 lists.

Not sure why but the FCC dinged Redline 10DB of tx power due average
vs peak power calculations.

So then Airspan can go further (more applicable to rural markets)?
If Redline's 15 mbit throughput per 7.5 MHz is correct and is similar to
other products in this band, a 10 MHz product would have 20 mbit throughput.
I'm working on an Enterprise level service, so it seems like Redline's AN-80

In our area, Edge Wireless is a regional cell company (actually a
subsidiary of AT&T). They have 90 towers in my coverage area. We tried
once to get on one of their towers. It was a 3 page application that had
to be submitted along with a $3,000 application fee (that was NON

Used to be, many of them, like US Cellular left the

Now, pretty much all of them require an analysis

it was 1600 for USCC.
