used to remove the floating corpse of any dead human or animal they come

What happens when Grass / Weeds / Plants are under water is - after day

When this happens - all of the oxygen is eliminated from the water -
Fish / frogs / anything amphibious starts to die..

What will happen is if we come across survivors - we will radio in their

our hunt for the dead. This is really fuckin depressing - pardon my

There is no one to serve internet to in New Orleans but FEMA and the
work crews and I am sure that the Feds have satellite set up. New
Orleans has been issued orders for COMPLETE evacuation. They are moving
all the folks out of the shelters to higher ground (refugee camps) North
of New Orleans City limits. It will be many months before anyone will be
allowed back into New Orleans. Water is still pouring into town as we
speak due to levee breaches and is expected to have 9' of water downtown
before it quits coming across the levee. A soup bowl cant hold but so
much soup.

Re: [WISPA] Hurricane? - worse than media says

2005-08-30 Thread George

It is a very sad situation.

It appears to me that there will be 10's of thousands of people, if not
more, who's lives are completely ruined.

I was thinking of a way of helping. Unfortunately there isn't much a
wisp in Oregon can really do except maybe to send a wisp in that area
some extra equipment, but that is probably not the best way to help.

So I'm going to find one of the charity groups and send them a check.

Sadly
George

were evactuated.   Four cops standing all around them with shotguns,

The
death toll will end up in the 1000s - there are 100s of bodies floating around
the canals and bayous in the southeast louisiana and southwest
mississippi.

There
will also end up being 1000s more deaths related to this
storm

New
Orleans is toast - for atleast 3-4 months - Marshal law is in place and 100%
evacuation has been ordered.

Is there any way some of us other WISPs can show up with some
infrastructure and save the day? Could be a good opportunity to help
some people and do some good marketing WISPs at the same time.

The
death toll will end up in the 1000s - there are 100s of bodies floating around
the canals and bayous in the southeast louisiana and southwest
mississippi.

There
will also end up being 1000s more deaths related to this
storm

New
Orleans is toast - for atleast 3-4 months - Marshal law is in place and 100%
evacuation has been ordered.

Looks like Dauphin Island is in the path for that

If it floods deep enough inland you could have some
problems...

Re: [WISPA] Hurricane?

2005-08-28 Thread Mac Dearman

I don't know about JohnnyO, but I could use a couple Trango Atlas Radios
:-) - - - that aint got nothing to do with the storm that is
approaching, but thought I would add that.

Yeah, its gonna be a real damaging storm if it continues on its
current path. I am about 220 miles N. of New Orleans so we will be OK if
the tornadoes dont get us in the after math!! JohnnyO is a little
further West than where its predicted, but he is still not but about 150
miles (due west) from downtown New Orleans and about 35 off the Gulf Of
Mexico. If it travels any further West he could be in serious trouble
fast. This is gonna be the worst Hurricane of the year and the worst to
hit our area in at least 40 years.

JohhnyO - - if you need somewhere to go - - - - - you know the way
here!! Pack it up and head out - - I have plenty room.
