Hello Bill,
Any updates on a possible fix here? Since WSJT used to compile and run
just fine fine on Centos, this seems like a Fortran code change that
could be simplified to be compatible with the older gcc-gfortran-4.4.7
version. If that's really not possible, there seems like there is
Hello Bill,
Thanks for looking into this and it would be unfortunate to see
Centos/RHEL 6.x dropped from the support due to some late addition to
the codebase. Any updates here to Richard's compile issue(s)?
Btw, it sounds like they closed that PR and have it tracking this PR

Hey Richard,
From the compilation issues you saw for building the newest WSJT-X
code, do you think that some modification could be done to make it more
compatible with older GCC versions?

Hello Bill,
Thanks for the response!
it is not such a big issue as the RHEL/CentOS current release is 7.x
which will have newer GNU gcc toochain
Indeed, Centos 7 has gfortran-4.8.5 but I'm running Centos 6 which has
been very reliable and will keep getting updates through November, 2020.
Giving this thread a polite bump. Is there any concern with Gfortran
4.4.7 having a bug in compiling WSJT-X?

Try using the "Kenwood D710" rig in Hamlib. I've used it on my D710 and
it works (though technically NOT supported by Kenwood) though when NOT
in Echolink mode. See

It's quite strange to me that Microsoft is creating a "reverse Wine"
type solution. By being able to SSH into a Windows machine to a Bash
prompt is essentially no different than logging into a Linux box but to
what end?
Run all the GNU tools but with a Windows kernel? How odd. Sure,
Hey Greg,
Though slightly older versions at the moment, Richard Shaw has had WSJTX
RPMs available for Fedora for some time:

Hello Bill,
There is quite a lot of documentation out there for this:

I would agree that Flrig compatibility would be a great addition. You

Hello Paul,
I'm confused. That Kenwood is an FM radio where as WSJT is intended
for weak signal SSB work on say UHF+/VHF/HF. I suppose you could try
running WSJT modes on FM but I'm not sure how well that would work.
