Hi,
There is a "easy to reproduct" bug in the RC3 version
The sequence:
170900 -17 0.1 1272 ~ CQ 3B8MM LG89
170918 Tx 1272 ~ 3B8MM F4HTQ JN25
170930 -15 0.1 1271 ~ CQ 3B8MM LG89
170945 Tx 1272 ~ 3B8MM F4HTQ JN25
171015 Tx 1272 ~ 3B8MM F4HTQ JN25
171000
Random callers below 1000 are ignored. Those who have already "engaged" the
Fox are automatically moved below 1000 to finish the qso...that's how the
software works.
Of course, there are those who have no idea what they are doing, can't read
and/or won't read, plus the deliberate qrm'ers...I saw
Stop someone that 3B7A Agalega Island RTTY station whose pile up buried the

I was using a club call W8BAR and got this.
It may help you debug or it may be my fault - I don't know.
I got about 7 "RR73" messages.

I could not work them. Zero propagation in the east coast. Weak in the west.
However
Signals from W7/KH7Z were:
- if only one signal (i.e. CQ), he was -21 to -18
- if 3-5 signals, all signals were between -12 to -08.
Contrary to logic. Maybe, the close proximity to the
Hi All
During the first test I saw many hounds sending R reports above 1000Hz.
I could copy Fox solidly with max number of slots running.
I did not hear Joe at all.
Fox signal in the second hour was very weak for most of the time. It
seemed then that most hounds were sending R reports below
I heard W1/KH7Z from 140130 until 143630 when all his transmissions suddenly
stopped. I called many times and eventually got a report at 143600
143600 -9 0.6 352 ~ OZ7AMG RR73; G4KLA -24
but never a follow up after transmissions stopped.
Thereafter I heard no other FOX calling until
For the second hour, I (CM87) was in the skip zone of the AZ fox (DM43), so the
only time that I copied him (weakly) was when he called CQ on single frequency;
nothing else hear, presumably due to power drop when using multi-freqs...
perhaps the program should reduce power when using on
Afternoon
Took part in 1st test - after 30 odd mins Fox found me, would rather the 2 min
timeout was a little longer (4 mins or so - at least long enough to double
check docs or look at Ping thingy on another screen) - Fox moved me to below
1000 as expected - back and forward, Red Watchdog
Joe and the group:
First, no propagation in northeast OH for the first test. Bummer.
Second, maybe I’m confused (as usual):
- I thought signals below 1000Hz are ignored? Many are. Some are not.
- I thought the Hounds were expected to transmit above 1000Hz and the Fox
would ignore below?

All those who use FT-847 or similar satellite ground station must not

because the radio switches into satellite mode.
It well worth checking http://www.sk3bg.se/contest/ webpage to see what
kind of contests are planned for a -say a test day.

Hi there
I found the use of the "Ping Jockey Relief" chat page was a very good
idea, and useful and working well!
I was able to hear steadily the first fox W1/KH7Z. Gave him a series of
call from 1402 Z (since the fox was late... never saw this case in real

W1/KH7Z and K1JT were consistently loud in IL, about +10. I called for
the full hour trying different frequencies and power levels. No luck on
a QSO. Most stations being worked seemed to be either west coast or Europe.
W7/KH7Z was also loud. I worked him almost immediately with high power,
BTW, I checked “Rx All Freqs” AFTER I made the screen cap.

Here in KP01 / OCF dipole: W7/KH7Z , if 1 carrier, is loud abt -8dB, but
5 carriers -19 .. -22dB and mostly useless (gets rolled by qsb/qrm).

I could not hear the foxes during the first hour at all so I didn’t call. Heard
them intermittently during the second hour not sure if I was even heard.

Morning Guys,
Regarding testing Apr7th 1400-1600 from OZ I was able to some hound
activity in the first 30min or so last night but not neither "KH7Z"
stations.
That said, this morning I've noticed that once I deactivated "hound" mode,
so its now in normal FT8 mode and the setting for split was
That looked to be a pirate – 3B7A was working 20CW at the time and I could hear
them here but I couldn’t hear their RTTY signal (de Grant VK5GR)
