Re: [wsjt-devel] jtsdk win32 update 4

2015-12-26 Thread Greg Beam
Hi Sandro,

Menu Issue,

I'll work with you off-line to resolve that one.

JTSDK-MSYS Error

Upgrade-4 and the subsequent SVN updates would not / should not cause
this issue at all.

Do you by chance have Antivirus software running? If so, try White
Listing the msys dll:

c:\JTSDK\msys\bin\msys-1.0.dll

I just noticed the the last few days so I'm not really sure when it
happened.

Hi Sandro,

Yes, I think that is the problem, but I do not know why this is
affecting some users and not others.

I will add the full path to the svn.exe for the version check which
should fix the problem.

[wsjt-devel] Audio level

2015-12-26 Thread Michael Black
Another data point...when the scale goes to max the audio level shows maxed
out too. But the rig and my power meter only show 10W being produced.
Then without changing anything a subsequent exchange will pump out 90W and
I have to reduce WSJT-X volume back down with the system audio level
showing the appropriate decrease.
I'm going to try monitoring the signal and see if there's some mixing going
on. Restarting WSJT-X doesn't change whatever the current behavior is.
Seems it gets stuck in some strange state and I can't quite pinpoint what
brings it out of that state or puts it back into it.

Re: [wsjt-devel] Audio level

2015-12-26 Thread Michael Black
OK...I think this may have something to do with transmit bandwidth. Was
playing around with it and had dropped it to 2kHz.
I have to leave right now but I think when you get an offset of around 1400
it bumps it to 1900 with split mode...I don't quite understand why WSJT-X
would care though with the volume level behaving screwy. It has no idea
what the transmit bandwidth is so why would volume go nuts?
I have yet to confirm absolutely that this is what is causing it.
Hopefully when I get back.

Re: [wsjt-devel] Audio level

2015-12-26 Thread Michael Black
Never mind my last comment on audio...I understand now...not enough
caffeine. Low power on the rig was just causing me to bump up WSJT-X audio
levels.

So optimum bandwidth is going to be 2200Hz?

Hi Guy,

I've no idea where it is but if you didn't edit then I can only assume
that the JTSDK is itself modifying its own source files. That almost
certainly is a defect so I'll leave that to Greg to sort out.

Hi Guy,

The update script *should not* be editing / modifying itself, if it is,
that would certainly need to be fixed. So, as Bill stated, simply delete
the file: C:\JTSDK\update.cmd and run the update.

[wsjt-devel] Audio level

2015-12-26 Thread Michael Black
Running r6315...

I've noticed in the last few versions (since the tuning audio level
change?) that the audio level seems to go up/down at random times (without
tuning).

Things will be fine and then on the next exchange the audio can jump up or
downmax scale normally produces about 90W on my system but it will
change so that 10W is the max. Nothing sets it back...then all of a sudden
on the next exchange it will be back at 90W.

I'll try and figure this out...must have something to do with the tuning
audio level patch.

is not present in windows title (see image) and in the text.

This also for jtsdk-qt and jtsdk-py

version command give me

JTSDK-Win32 Repository Information

* Version: JTSDK-Win32 2.0.3
* Last Changed Rev: 560
* URL: https://svn.code.sf.net/p/jtsdk/jtsdk/jtsdk-win/tags/jtsdk-win-2.0.3
* Last Changed Date: 2015-12-25 08:55:58 +0100 (ven, 25 dic 2015)

that seem correct.
Now the problem.

JTSDK MSYS give me:
  0 [main] bash 9736 fork_copy: linked dll data/bss pass 0 failed,
0x1C8000..0x1C8AD8, done 0, windows pid 4780, Win32 error 487

bash.exe: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable

and/or after reboot the logo JTSDK-MSYS is printed but any simple
command cause the problem:

Sandro@Sandro-HP~$ ls
  0 [main] bash 3972 fork_copy: linked dll data/bss pass 0 failed,
0x6E8000..0x6E8AD8, done 0, windows pid 10656, Win32 error 487

bash.exe: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable

Nobody similar problem?

Thank in advance

Hello All,

A few users reported svn errors when finding or executing svn where the full
path to svn.exe was not stated. Why this is a requirement now, where it was
not before is still a mystery. I did not see these errors on either of my
Win-10 boxes, but, I believe the issue is resolve with the latest
postinstall script update.

I also corrected the svn version number that is displayed in the Title Bars
for JTSDK-QT and JTSDK-PY, and added a search for Asciidoctor in JTSDK-QT.

Attached is what should be shown when the update run is successful. If
anyone is still seeing svn errors please report it to the dev-list.

Hi Greg,

That is what I did in the end. I can confirm that I have never modified
update.cmd.

I had exactly the same error on another PC, also running Win 7 x64.

Best wishes for 2016 and thanks for JTSDK.
