Thanks Jeremy however after downloading and moving it to the Applications folder, clicking on the icon does not cause anything to display other than the icon appearing in the dock. I experienced the same behavior with your earlier package. Finder reports it as version 1.9.7, created on July 23, 2009 (???). This is on a Mac Mini running Snow Leopard 10.6.4. With zoom=1344 it looks normal, if I zoom in there are some large green blocks mainly south of Sequim using mapnik.geo. It won't start from the script and I see that error when running from a terminal with my normal account login. Have you tried doing the bootstrap.sh;./configure;make;make install on that system lately to see if maybe some of the libraries may have changed? I don't think that'll fix it, but it's worth a shot 'cuz it's easy. I didn't run the bootstrap.sh script before the other steps. I had crashing issues with 1.9.5 on a PPC Mac running Tiger (10.4.11) but 1.9.4 worked for me. The display just didn't come up at all, no error messages in terminal. I don't know if it is related but I'm also having trouble getting 1.9.5 to run on my PPC Mac Mini (Tiger using LessTif from MacPorts). It compiles without problems, but when I try to run it I get Error: Couldn't find per display information and the window doesn't open. 1.9.4 still works just fine (I have upgraded many of the MacPorts- installed programs since I compiled that version).
