Hi, I'm using the neomagic driver on an old IBM thinkpad 390e laptop. The
problem I'm having is that when X goes into standby, suspend, or power off
mode the screen blanks, but the LCD backlight stays lit. Anyone know what I
can do to get the screen to completely turn off?

The xvideo option takes memory bandwidth in the current driver, even
when you aren't running any xv apps...
Ok, try the fifo_* options now (leaving xvideo no in also). Try
fifo_moderate first, then fifo_conservative. I'd expect fifo_aggresive
to be worse, but maybe not.

That's about the best we're going to get with the driver... I see you
have an 1152x768 mode loading, is that one better? It should be, as
well as 1024x768 (I think that's the highest I tested at depth 24.)
The 1152x768 mode is horrible, it has a refresh rate of 55Hz (fifty five

run it, everything seems to start up just fine. I create an xterm and
twm lets me place it where I want. But ... when I give xterm the
focus, it sees none of my keystrokes. I can see shift keystrokes via
xev, and I have a

If you really get desperate, switch to a flat-panel display. No
flying electrons to worry about in those.

Xterm has default colours (colour0-15) in /etc/X11/app-defaults/XTerm-color
which affects the colors used by a console app. in an xterm.
Is there a way to assign a different colour map to different xterms?
I want to have one set of colours for midnight commander, and another
set for vim.

cards are loaded as modules by the one server.
However, the other video card for the other monitor is
an S3 trio 64 which is only supported in the 3.x version
