Why XMail is too slow when using it with any webmail (IMP, for example)?
A simple message with a 5 mb attached file tooks 10 or 15 minutos to be
processed (+- 1 or 2 minutes in sendmail/gnu pop3)
Thanks

Mr. Davide,
Could you put (in future versions of XMail) the error messages in a separate
file or include file?
With this will be more easy to customize and translate the messages.
thanks

I'm trying to migrate my XMail 1.12 to 1.17 (Win32 version)
I changed my scripts return codes from 97 to 4 (return codes 0 I don't
change) but for some reason when the script is called, it stay running for
several minutes and doesn't terminate.
Am I missing something?
Thank you

I'm trying to migrate XMail from version 1.12 (older filter structure) to
version 1.17 (new filter structure).
I changed all my filter scripts to reflect the new return codes BUT for some
reason when XMail calls the filter, it stays in memory.
After 5 minutes, dozens of filters are in memory just
After some tests running XMail locally I could see that @@FILE is returning:
In version 1.12:
C:\MailRoot\spool\5\19\mess\1059437227441.3144.NBNOLVER
But, in version 1.17
\\?\C:\MailRoot\spool\5\19\mess\1059437227441.3144.NBNOLVER
Is this correct? Is there something wrong in server.tab?
that is a valid path; using that \\? business enables some path-handling
extensions in the OS, (super-long paths for one, as I
recall)

Another thing that I notice was (in the filters/domain.tab file):
In version 1.12:
C:\winnt\system32\cscript.exe D:\mailroot\filters\catcher.js @@FILE
@@FROM @@RRCPT
In version 1.17
cscript.exe D:\mailroot\filters\catcher.js @@FILE @@FROM @@RRCPT
Without this change the filter wasn't called

If you are using NTFS cluster size smaller than 4096 (default), you are in
trouble with XMail + NTFS.
Your machine will become slower and slower if the number of files increase

Do you have reverse zones configured? If so, try to exclude them for a while
