I don't know how the /tmp dir is related to this problem, but the
error message comes when the graphics engine is locked up. You will
need to power down to get it back... Perhaps boot into run level 3
instead and then "startx", you will at least have a usable console
while you fix the problem.

Hi, I've noticed something with XFree86 4.2.0. First off here's my hardware
configuration:
AMD Athlon 900MHz, VIA chipset motherboard
ATI All-In-Wonder Pro PCI 8MB, using the ati_drv.o from the GATOS project's ati.2
project.
Linux version 2.4.18 (Slackware Linux 8.0)
Here's the symptom.

It seems to appear at the same time as the remote X extension, xrx,
which makes me think that the idea something like this:

The scenario I see where it may have use is for shared environments
like projectors/projector walls, so you might have much looser access control
than usual, but want some level of projection betw
Hi,
I have a problem with xserver. Its not able to start as I start the
system. The monitor flashes at intervals with the folowwing message on the
screen:
[drm:i810_flush_queue] *ERROR* lockup
Once I deleted the /tmp directory and then again created it. This problem
started only after that.

Using glBitmap with ATI DRI driver while the depth test is on
is resulting in randomly passing/failing each bit, resulting
in garbage. There are patterns in the pass/fail that make it look
like a depth lookup is occuring, but in a messed up way.
Here is a quick demo. Can some other ATI user test t

OK, I did a cvs update, remade and installed, and fair enough, I can get
it to run. However, display zooming seems to be even more broken than in

I have a radeon 7000 (PCI) running on my machine under XFree 4.2.0. I'm
hoping to find out the state of 3D for this card. I see that the AGP version
of the this card does 3D but that the PCI version only works on the Alpha
platform.
I searched the mailing list for the last 2 years and noti

That helped somewhat. No more freeze, but X still crashes back to text
mode. The log file states:
Symbol RADEONEngineInit from module
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/radeon_drv.o is unresolved!

Actually I noticed that while browsing the CVS logs. I even tried
fetching the CVS version and compiling it, but because of changed ABI

Hi All ,
I'am working on Xfree86-4.2.0 with Kernel version 2.4.16
I'am using an assabet-like custom board having SA1110 processor.
Since I'am not using any fonts with Xfbdev for this board,
Can somebody please tell me if this is going affect the quality
