Hello List,
I hope it’s OK to ask it here and someone will be able to help. I would be
really grateful for any suggestions / pointers at all as I am totally clueless.
I have just installed Xubuntu 18.04. I have no problems connecting to the
internet via cable / plugged in / wired but it won't
(which also applies to Xubuntu)?

Hello everyone,
Could anybody advise please, how do I keep the xkb map for good in Xubuntu
18.04? What I have in use is only temporary and "session" based so to speak, so
after I log off / shut down I have to set it all over again. Any suggestions /
pointers would be highly appreciated. Many
These are definitely some issues with VLC, not Linux / Xubuntu. I’d suggest you
try VLC support / help / forums, etc. The other option is to try to run it
using Windows just to check and see if it works there (shot in the dark).
Merry Christmas everyone and a Happy coming New Year!
Regards,
I believe it's easier to buy yourself another USB stick (they’re dirt cheap
nowadays) than to re-install BIOS, re-install Xubuntu, re-install Windows, and
all the other boots you may have. If I needed a single match I wouldn't grind
and rub down the thickest and tallest tree in town until it
That looks like a fatly graphic / video card (as per your link). I have never
had any problems with Xubuntu/Windows dual boot. It's been running perfectly
well with any USB sticks, CD drives, and so on. I only had to re-install the
wifi driver in the beginning and that was it. Although I could
Hello List,
Does anyone know if there are any work arounds to run Viber that has always
been 64 bits on 32 bits machines?
I have Xubuntu 18.04 running on my 32 bit machine. I tried to use different
versions of Wine (www.winehq.org) in order to install Viber but this Wine just

forwards compatible like
that. I won't get into the technical details why, but I'll just say that 64-bit
programs require certain bits and pieces to be there that just aren't present
in 32-bit CPUs.

P.S. I found one Viber's version that is 32 bit. It’s for win xp. The Viber's
version number is 9.5.0.8. I hope Wine will be able to process this installer
now!

If you are not a bank then most probably you are going to be all right
without any latest updates and all. Personally, I do not suffer any
"must-have-the-very-latest-shiny-updates" syndromes. Most of the time the
very latest ones are much worse than a couple of versions back. They can

Use IronAHK or Autokey. These two work pretty much the same as AHK in
Windows. Alternatively, use wine to run AHK on Linux. Wine runs pretty much
any Windows .exe files on Linux. You may probably need some timers to
trigger things off too.

Try another email client just to compare settings in there. That might give
you an idea where you getting it wrong in TB.
