I'm posting some log snippets in case this helps in diagnosing:

Are there any errors when you try to start the daemons/zenoss?

I belive as part of net-snmp you get a program *called* snmpwalk. On
Windows, I've been pretty happy with a mix of Tenbria SNMP Browser and
UnbrowseSNMP depending on what I'm doing.

I am toying with the idea of checking the status of IPTables on our
Linux systems. Off hand, I don't see any obvious way of checking the
status of iptables via snmp. I can write a custom script to check the
status and report back through SNMP, but I was wondering if there was
anything more

Hello-
I am trying to graph a GAUGE data source where every value is an integer that
typically ranges between 0 and 10. However, my graphs show values like 3.42

but it still seems to be doing some type of

You could use the host resources mib to calculate this. There is this mib

Hi Mike,
Well sadly I'm still not any further on with this (partly due to time
constraints) but i
I believe the OS process monitoring follows whatever monitor you have defined.
So on the left hand side, click on monitors and then edit whichever monitor
your are using (localhost is default). You can change the interval here.

I'm using the 2.1.3 virtual appliance and am experiencing this same issue. I

Folks,
I have experienced similar gaps in the performance graphs since upgrading from

Hello
Anybody can tell me you do I change de default range time in a graph report?
The default is hourly but I want to default this parameter to the last half
hour.
I try whit this options in the RRD file but doesnât work:
Code:

--start=end-1w
Thanks
I'm not sure if it's the Status Monitor or the Performance Monitor. Try both.

Check out the cmd collector plugin for a good starting point. There you can
find plugins which can run ifconfig on linux for instance. If you modified one
of those and had it parse your iptables information and return it via
datapoints you could then bind a performance template to it for

I should add that this error occurs when zenoss is loaded with over 500 windows

using 2.1.91 version, without success.
I should say that this is my tenth time starting from scratch, hoping for the

You know, this might be a timing issue - that is, it's trying to start a
new collection before it can finish the old one. Maybe try increasing
the time between collector runs from 5 minutes to 10?
I know that with large numbers of devices you need to either really have

Thanks again Zach for a prompt response.
If common belief is that moving away from the vmware image would help my case,
I'd be happy to try.
I certainly hope there is an easy way of moving all my settings and
configuration.
Before I go into the details of how I got partial success, I'm curious

Hi,
Basically this error pops up when user credentials for the Windows machine that
you monitor is incorrect.
Please check,
zWinPassword and zWinUser in your device's zProperties.

you'll need to enable WMI monitoring for that.
create a local user and make it a local admin.
set the user/password in the zproperties under = zwinuser and winpassword
and try re-module the device.
that should solve it :)

How to you change the timing? The increase of zCommandCycleTime from 60 to 300

I have already moved to to a much more powerful machine (DELL Poweredge 1800,

Thanks for your reply.
on some of my networks I've got the same effect.
my best guess is incomplete routing tables from the discover process.
check the networks tab and remove unrelated netmasks.
