prstat -Z shows memory in use in megabytes. Look at the RSS column (ram used)
and SWAP column (virtual memory used).
Did you reboot the zone after configuring it's cpu-cap? With two cpus, and a
cap of 0.25, the zone should not use more that 12.5% of the total cpu. What
value are you seeing?

xdmcp query, so when the vncviewer connects, it gets a gdm login. gdm must be
configured to enable xdmcp.

Are you attempting to forward X11 to the global zone by:
global$ ssh -X
local$ xterm
or:
global$ ssh
local$ export DISPLAY=
local$ xterm
For the former, you could be hitting:

Something is now working right if you are getting the maintenance
prompt. You can log into the
zone with "zlogin -S ", and then run "svcs -xv" to see what
service has issues.
