Good idea.  I just tried it out and the problem is reproducible.  Installing 
the RPM from tripwire.org created the /etc/tripwire directory and config 
files, and up2date nuked them again when it installed.  I also got an email 
off list from someone who said the same thing happened to them.  Looks like a 
real problem, although chances are it is a problem with the rpm from 
tripwire.org as several people have suggested.

How do I "unpack" or otherwise look inside the .rpm file to see this script?
