Likely (updated it, or updated it somewhere in a distant past)

Without knowing the exact protocol and sequence of updates, it is
impossible to tell what could go wrong.

I'm not sure I like the dichotomy of "something's in SMF and some not".

(As someone else suggested in the thread: why not just specify a different
config file/dir)
