Hi,

Hi guys,

I'm interconnecting Sems sbc module with an external server, which
requires authentication, which works for INVITE (SEMS is getting a 401
(not sure why not 407, but whatever) and resends the INVITE with proper
Authorization header).

However, also the BYE requires authentication, again triggered via 401,
but this time Sems is not resending the BYE with Auth. headers.
atm, the BYE is handled in a specific way as it terminates the call - when it is received, the BYE is sent in the other leg, both legs are ended and immediately dropped completely on dialog/application layer.

Is there a specific reason for that? Can this be solved with a config
the reason is a rather historic one: When SEMS is used as media server, usually you can't do much when you get e.g. a timeout failure response from the transaction layer to BYE, which happens e.g. when the other end crashes. And, special care must be taken to not get into the situation where you end up with hanging dead calls (timers etc).

But its true that for B2BUA use, especially when authenticated, the current behaviour is lacking.

option, or do we require a code change for that?
It requires code change, yes.

Stefan

Thanks,
Andreas
