A larger MAF won't do anything on a GA. It hardly did anything for a fully
built SR20. A bigger MAF mean mre programing, you can't simply just bolt it
on. It also costs $290, a lot of money for something that does nothing.
Also CAI's work by harnessing resonace, it is not a flow thing. A 2.5" pipe
provides plenty of flow for even a very built GA. The tuned length is
affected by the length and diameter of the pipe. By decresing the diameter,
you can get a stronger wave with a shorter pipe. The idea is to use the
smallest pipe posible the provides sufficent flow.
Also steel piping is a lot cheaper than a MAF. Ben Benavides has 2.5 inch
intercooler piping in his 500 hp monster. The reson why a bigger MAF made
more bottom end power in my SR was that it allowed communication between the
two halfs of the CAI allowing it to resonate better at low rpm, since it was
the same diameter as the CAI pipe all the way though. It was only 1-2 more
hp below 3000 rpm. I don't think that's worth the almost $300 bucks that it
would have cost. That's why I don't recoment this mod. The stock GA MAF is
good to about 200+ hp.
