I could be wrong so someone correct me if I am. This is what I got from
looking at the AEM bypass vale. I don't think there will be any
restriction with it installed there does not apear to be anything in the
airstream. It appears that portions of the wall are compossed of a
medium weight flexible plastic flaps that are just stiff enough that
they seal around the wall and air is drawn through the filter during
normal engine operation. When the filter end is submerged under water
the flaps would pose less resistance to airflow than the heavier much
denser water and the flaps open and allow air in through the intake but
the water can not be sucked up though the filter. Kinda like a traw
with a hole in the side. If youput it in a glass of water and suck you
will get air and no water, but if you pull the straw out of the water
you will get air through the end of the straw where the water was. At
least that's what I gather from looking at the photo's Mike K. can you
confirm this maybe?

Will it fit behind the shrowd? The stock k&n filter is
already pretty huge. Also wont the AEM bypass valve reduce the amount of
air
that goes in the engine since I assume it's like adding another extra
filter.
