I have a question about timing. For someone who knows absolutley NOTHING about
timing, is this something I could do with, say, a Haynes manual. I'm pretty
mechanically inclined and very intelligent but I have never really attempted to
tune my own car. It's like upgrading your own computer. When you crack that
thing open, it's very intimidating but when you know what you're doing, it's a
cinch. About how long does it take and are there any adverse affects to
advancing the timing? (i.e. lower MPG, smog, etc.) What EXACTLY does advancing
the timing do and why does it produce more HP?
