Dude.... I think your tweeter went to a better place.
You MUST use a crossover or atleast a bass blocker [capacitor] to keep the
low frequencies out. Not sure if you blew out the silk dome or fried the
voice coil. Do a continuity test with a multimeter and see if the voice coil
is burnt open. I got a feeling the tweeters were damaged trying to play
frequencies it wasn't designed for rather than too much power.
