Well, after driving my Sentra around for some months now and determining how much
boost a stock 1.6L engine can handle, I have come to the conclusion that 13psi is it.
I proved this by taking multiple passes at the track and slowly increasing the boost
pressure. I started noticing different engine sounds once I got over 13psi. Well
since I have another 1.6L that I am working on with custom rods and pistons, I decided
to go ahead and push my current engine to the limit. Well, Friday night was showtime.
My first run was nice and easy, I ran a 15.462 with 7psi and some wheel spin/hopping.
My next run, which also had wheelspin/hopping (which was my last run) gave me this
time:

R/T: .721
60ft: 2.486
330ft: 6.440
1/8mi: 9.498
MPH: 82.10
1000ft: 12.043
1/4mi: 14.231
MPH: 102.35

I ran against a modified mustang. He ran 14.628 at 103.46mph. He also had alot of
wheel spin. Well, now it is time to start putting my other GA16DE engine back
together. This run was my final one at the track with a stock engine. I am not sure
if I want to due runs with the modified engine I am working, but time will tell.
Anyway, to all 1.6L owners, there is definitely potential for this engine and I will
prove this once I get the modified one completed, until then, enjoy your rides.

Craig
GA16DET and enjoying the boost and ride!
