Porting the head will work with stock cams, just not
as well as with bigger cams. The GA16 suffers from
poor head flow especialy on the exhaust side.
I predict gains of 5-8 hp from headwork on this motor,
posibly more. Your money is probably better spent
doing all of the bolt on's including cams first.
The 95-99 head is better than the 91-94 head, probably
worth about 5 more hp. You can mill the head up to
1mm with no problems but the main problem by milling
more will be retarded cam timing, not warping. 1 mm
will retard the cams by about 4 degrees which will
cost bottom end power. I mm will rasie the
compression by almost a point. Like Chris said,
pistons are a better way to raise the compression than
milling to aviod this retarding problem. It is hard
to design adjustable cam gears for this motor beacue
of the VTC.
The big throttle body is not benifical until after the
point where cams are installed.
