If you plan on becoming a resident of Cal. (your crazy to do so in the first
place). I believe your car will have to be registered in Cal. But here is
the catch, They used to have a smog impact fee which is now, if I'm not
mistaken being paid back to people. But, since your car was no made as a,
"California model." They cannot make you add emisions equipment that did not
come standard on your car. So I believe you will get a waiver and have to
pass just federal emisions standards. The best thing to do would be to call
some one like the CARB people in Sac. It is part of the state gov., so it
should be on Cal. state web page.
