Hi,
SOI need not be documented prior to antibiotic administration. If it is, the
measure does not fail. Blood should be collected/drawn for Blood Culture prior
to antibiotic, unless there is Blood Culture delay (see specs manual).

Subject: [Sepsis Groups] Source documentation/antibiotic

Good morning:
Hope someone can clarify this for me.
We are discussion at about the timing of the documentation of a source of
infection/ or documented infection.
Does the source or suspected/likely source of infection need to be documented
before the administration of an antibiotic? And if it is not will this cause
the measure to fail?
