The mailet log should have information regarding delivery attempts. You can add <debug>true</debug> to the RemoteDelivery mailet for additional verbosity.
Thanks -- will give this a try and report back. Is it (in general) safe to move the contents of (say) the "spam" directory back to spool in order to get those messages reprocessed (since I have been fiddling with the spoolmanager config quite a lot, and quite a number of non-spam messages have ended-up being seen as spam, for reasons I haven't fathomed yet).
