Hey!
We have been using WebSphere Standard Edition on an Intel/NT box with Netscape web
server 3.51 for about 6 months. We are up to Ver. 2.02 now. Our audience is a
corporate intranet. This is a light load compared to a Retail Store Internet
installation, though.
It has been running flawlessly. We only have problems when we do aliases to
directories on the web server. It seems to munge WebSphere and WAS needs to be
reinstalled. When installing WAS, WAS likes to set up it's own aliases and puts the
web server into some unknown state, i.e., the .cnf files get munged. Maybe we are
doing something wrong though. Don Washburn can shed some light on this problem?
Good luck, if you go with WAS. IMO it's a good servlet engine.
Sans adieu,
Danny Rubis
