You're quite right - people have no place sending you private abusive emails
- it's not appropriate. My suggestion would be to "block" the sender of
these emails, ask the system administrator at your college if you don't know
how to do this. The list owners may "ban" the abuser, but I wouldn't hold
your breath. Someone will be sure to post details of how to complain - I
don't have them I'm afraid.
