Howard,
Apparenty, you have not even spent the time do dig through the archives to
answer any of issues that you may have about Java.  This fourm is just a tip
of the iceberg of just how much information you can receive about Java but
mind you this is a servlet mailing list. So if you have any other issues
then go to www.java.sun.com and read the tutorials and the javadoc.  Oh by
the way I've read the Java How To by Deitel and Deitel and all the examples
do work! I would double check the configuration of your web server.
