No I don't. The old community are mostly gone over to
"advanced-servlets" which is a Yahoo (was egroups) mailing list that a
few of us setup.

It's very heavily moderated. Ask dumb questions get your ass kicked.

We recently started an advanced-servlets-tutorial list where people
could ask slightly dumb questions in an effort to learn. It's a sign
of the times that when I announced it on this list we had very few
subscribers. I found that very depressing.

If SI becomes more moderated and gets a bit more polite then people
will come back to listen and maybe offer the odd comment.

I think what most annoyed the people we lost was that when you say:

  "hey that's off topic"

you get a bunch of people emailing you *and* the list saying:

"it's our right to discuss whatever we like here"

Most of the emmigrant experts found that vocal minority extreemly
rude and so said goodbye.

That still goes on, there are still people here who think it's ok for
them to talk about what they had for dinner or where they're going on
their holidays. And they still are defiant when people tell them to
shut up. It's just that those of us who are left telling them to shut
up are a bit more obstreperous now /8->

>Yeah, whatever... I never did anything....

Yeah right. Except JServ, Coccoon, Tomcat.

All the influential projects, Pier was there.
