OK, if you really feel you need to answer the question, get it *to* the programmer, only the programmer, and not the list. (FWIW, I'm not sure I'd call someone a "programmer" if they can't find a better way to get that information than post to a totally inappropriate, irrelevant list.) I disagree (strongly) that the best way to handle off-topic posts is to just accept them with as little fanfare as possible. In this case, accepting them really does encourage them. A little self-policing can be productive and help keep the focus. Let's not let the list be hijacked.
