I switched to the 3.03 client, and noticed the increased processing time s@h
mentioned. I wrote a script which analyses my SetiQ result.log to quantify
this. The results are as follows:
2.4 Client:
minimum time: 0h0m30s
maximum time: 8h18m44s
average time: 7h36m29s
number of WU: 16471
3.03 Client:
minimum time: 10h53m53s
maximum time: 12h42m16s
average time: 11h52m34s
number of WU: 28
For the work units processed it seems as though the updated client requires
about 56% more time to process a WU. Measurements taken on a P3-500 / WINNT
4.0 Workstation SP 6a / command line clients. Note that the same WU's were
not processed by the two clients and there is little data for the 3.03
client, so there is a margin for error.
