> What's the 1st record you bought?
Olivia Newton John!
> When did you buy it?
i dunno, i was knee high to a grasshopper
> Do you still own it?
I wish! Actually i pooled allowances with my friend Kim to buy it and
she must have retained the rights because i searched for it fruitlessly
of recent.
> What's the last record you bought?
EveEyed*Somnium (luv it)
> When did you buy it?
about 10 moons ago at their show
> How was your musical evolution from 1st Rec to the last one?
well, as a wee one i remember doin' the rollerskate boogie to a whole
lotta Queen, Adam Ant, Pat Benatar, Blondie, Joan Jett and all the
Funkytown stuff. Then i heard the Police and i was hook, line and
sinker fer liiiiife. Followed by the Cure, New Order, Depeche
Mode, Siouxie. Then in my teens the transcendental/soul stirring
event of discovering Paul and the Replacements (i've been sighing
whimsically ever since). Next stop, tons o' Pearl Jam, RageATM,
GVSB, Dino Jr, Tripping Daisy followed by an estrogen fest of Babes in
Toyland, Tori Amos, 7 Year Bitch, PJ Harvey, Fluffy. Now i'm on a
boy kick, lots of GVSB, New Wet Kojak, Paul Westerberg, Replacements,
Police, William Shatner (hello....is anyone actually reading this?)
sprinkled with EveEyed, Tori, Spyche....
> Did you have any period you're now ashamed of during this evolution?
"She's a maaaaaniac, maaaaaaniac on the floor....." Know what i mean,
jellybean? (As the Sassy-aged crowd scratches their noggin in
bewilderment.) Not really ashamed, more bemused at what *knocked my
socks off* in elementary school.

> First gig you've been to and when?
Does this count: My Mama dragged me cryin' to John Denver when i was
7, forcing me to miss a slumber parteeeee at my friend's house. I wept
through the entire show. We still have'nt forgiven each other.
Then Adam Ant at 11 (with parental unit in tow)
Finally as a free agent, Frankie Goes to Hollywood soon after.....ok
so the parental unit dropped us off, i still had a blast.
> Last gig you've been to and when?
Clutch cargo/Darlington/Chomsky/The Commercials
one moon ago
> Best gig you've been to and when?
The Nirvana/Breeders/Shoenen Knife show when Kurt Cobain, absolutely
beside himself, stopped the show to announce that if he saw another
woman's body cruelly disrespected in the mosh pit, the audience would be
subjected to two hours of feedback and then Nirvana would walk off. Sadly,
the one and only time in about a thousand shows that i've ever seen a band
do this, though i've heard of others. I almost passed out from the shock.
I miss that boy.
> Worst gig you've been to and when?
Oh the pain! We got to the 7 Year Bitch/Alice Donut show just as 7
Year Bitch was (sniff, sniff) leaving the stage.
> Most exhausting gig you've been to and when?
That would be the Dionysian bingefest of my 21st birthday at Tripping
Daisy. I did a lot of running that night. "You're a very polite drunk"
my friend laughed later, because after numerous requests to "pull over
to puke" and not wanting to toss my cookies publicly, i kept running
off into the woods.....far, far, far into the woods. My friends spent the
whole night chasing after me:P
> Most crowded gig you've been to and when?
Another Tripping Daisy show at the Hop. The place holds 3 waifs
comfortably, but one night held about 500 and nooooooo oxygen.
> Less crowded gig you've been to and when?
The last Babes in Toyland at Trees. I know some consider lower turnouts
sad, but considering that a lot of people care as much about the contents
of the music they buy as they do the contents of their Taco Bell burritos
i would argue differently.
> Most crazy stuff you did or/and that happened to you during a gig and
> when?
Back to the oxygen deprivation Tripping Daisy show there was an incredibly
exuberant young fan (or stalker) who decided she *had* to get on the stage
and get her paws on the guitarist by, of course, *crawling over my head*.
She had a hold of my hair, with one hand on my shoulder and a foot on my
hip. The attempts of my friends and I to refrain her merely infuriated the
persistant one. But the horrified looks on the faces of the nearby roadies
were priceless. And same show, another rather out of place young woman in
penny loafers and hair bows became unamused with the raucous scene and
inexplicably walked up to my friend and threw a drink in her face. My
friend waited until Ms. Pennyloafers was exiting the club and kicked her
in the ass, then ducked behind her boyfriend so it looked like he did it.
Oh, and the girl at Nirvana who attempted to manuever her way to the front
by (no shit) *biting* about 10 hapless fans in her way...you could feel
the love.
