The really odd thing with the smoke problem is that it just started last
week - 1700 miles on the new engine. So it's not like the vacuum lines were
put back on wrong, etc, it just suddenly started. It doesn't smell like oil
smoke, but I have to assume it is, since the oil consumption is quite high.
It used 2 quarts to drive 50 miles Saturday night, but no visible smoke
while driving. It will smoke pretty good if you rev it up slowly in gear and
then get off the gas (engine brake). I'm still thinking that it's sucking
oil through from somewhere under high vacuum.

Also, I've found that I'm pegging the 20 PSI boost gauge. Even with less
than an inch of pedal travel, the boost shoots up well past the 15 psi the
computer is supposed to allow.

Thanks,
Marc Medina
