Actually, every 782 casting head I had apart had oil
squirters in the cam caps. Of course, they were later
models and had roller cams and followers. Some years
did not have them, but all mine did.
I haven't had one of these engines apart for a few
years now--I honestly haven't paid much attention to
it lately. If memory serves me right, the followers
of my Mitsubishi DOHC 6G72 has oil squirters built
into the followers themselves--it uses oil that flows
through the lash adjuster to shoot at the cam lobes.
I wonder if maybe there are two different kind of
followers out there for the 2.2/2.5?? Maybe ones with
such squirters and some without?
