I live in California, it's the hardest state to pass smog. I had a old Chevy S-10 that I got off my brother that had it sent it was new. That truck after fore years neverd passed smog, we always had to pay a shop to get it to pass, the last time I paid a shop they drilled a hoe in the exhast pipe just before the cat to smog it, they forgot to weld it up so I drove off with a exhast leak. So the last time I had to smog it I changed the wires, plugs and oil like I always did, but this time I put in one gallon of Denature Alcohol with a 1/4 tank of gas, it's a 20 gallon tank so that 5 gallons gas to 1 gallon of DA. The truck pasted with fling colors. All I did after that was to fill up the tank to deluded the DA because it's suppose to be bad for the rubber seals in the gas lines. All the smog tech did is to complain one time about the way the exhaust smelled :-] So far now on I don't care what car I smog I put in 1/2 gallon of DA in a 1/4 tank of gas just for GP.
