Last year I submitted a few doc patches, but the time was not right,

_Why, are you willing to accept doc patches now? Also, I've not had time
to ride the "git" wave yet, so don't have a clue how to access such a
repo. Just wondering if you could crontab something like
(cd $SHOES_HOME; tar -jcvf ~/public_html/mumble/shoes_snapshot.tar.bz2)
or something. Then we can send you doc patches against that.
Whatever gives you least grief. Thanks for being receptive about
