Yet another progress report...

Went to the range with the whippy driver. Hit most of the bucket with that
club, occasionally going to my regular driver or another club to try to
duplicate the whippy swing and see what happens. Results:

* I was slicing the whippy driver big-time. Just about the same amount of
slice every time. Usually it was a push-slice, meaning that I was coming in
with a considerably open clubface. But I did hit a few that started straight
and sliced big-time and two that actually went straight. (One of those I'd
have been happy with from my regular driver any day.)

* Noting that just about everything was slicing, I manually checked the
torque. (No, I don't have a torque meter; just grabbed the head and grip and
twisted.) You wouldn't BELIEVE how loose this thing is torsionally. I
suspect that prevents the head from closing to square unless everything is:
  (A) just right or
  (B) a swing that would hook a normal club.
The problem is, I didn't know whether A or B is the correct answer, and that
matters -- a lot. More about that below.

* When I tried to duplicate the whippy swing with a driver, I got very good
results. Long, good trajectory, with a bit of fade. That's what my good
drives do on the course. So, to that extent, it was successful as a training
aid.

* I was also able to get good results trying to duplicate the whippy swing
with a 3-wood. I had some limited success, but a lot less, with the irons=
