Hey
Tom,
Out of
curiosity (mine), what is your glove size. I found that relaxing my grip worked
wonders for a free wheeling release of the club. Last year I noticed that after
hitting about 30 or 40 balls I would unconsciously increase my grip pressure.
For my swing I gain almost 10 yds. per iron when I can relax my grip pressure.
I've always avoided increasing the grip size because of the "slowing down the
wrist release" theory. Kind of paradoxical that increasing the grip
size to the point that you can relax your grip could lead to a better
wrist release. Go
figger!
I am
presently using Player Softie Cords on my ego booster set (Avocet strong
lofted irons) and really don't like them much. What do your Midsize Tour
Velvets measure out to at say 1" and 5" down from the
cap?
GZach
