Be Careful!

And, Cut on the back side of the hosel. If you slip, there's less chance of hitting the head which is curving away from your blade. If you do nick the head, the touch up is in a much less noticeable area of the head.

Ok, I know this ought to be pretty simple,. but I'm looking for a better way of removing ferrules. I have been using a razor knife to just cut them off, but a couple of weeks ago my knife slipped and I took a big chunk of paint out of a Taylor Made 580 driver I was going to reshaft for a friend of mine. Luckily, he hits the club so much better now that he doesn't mind quite so much. But I do, so how do you guys do it so that you know you're not going to do the same thing? This isn't the kind of mistake I want to repeat.

Thanx,
Mark
