Also, you can make your own adaptor tool from PVC pipe and some cushioning material.
The tool can be made from a 3/4" PVC connector with a section of PVC pipe cemented inside the full length to thicken the wall.
Remove the grip (I blow it off and reuse if condition is good), slide "tool" over the shaft from the butt, place club in your puller, apply heat and push head off. Some people use a wet cloth between tool and crown of the head, I don't, I let the end of the tool melt a little and deform. When it gets too ugly I sand off the uglies on the belt sander. The Ping "hosel insert " will remain on the shaft and can be removed and reused by inserting a hot rod into the shaft tip, when epoxy bond to "hosel insert " gives way the hosel insert is removed from the shaft. Clean all pieces VERY well with a steel tube brush, beltsander, die grinder, whatever and reassemble the club.
Material to make the "tool" will cost less than $2.
