I'm not sure I understand your question(s). Do
you mean that the 3 iron has no ferrule at all? And I'm not sure what you mean
by "sleeve". Further, I assume you're measuring from above the tip (.365") to
the bottom of the shaft. As I recall, the hosel diameter is about .410" or
thereabouts.
I reinstalled a Black Cat 3 iron
shaft about 4 months ago. I used a standard 1/2" long, .370" iron ferrule
which I reamed out, heated, and forced on. It was a pain to get on the tip but
it worked. Be careful to clean out the hosel to the correct depth. A couple of
these I've seen have had a lot of epoxy still in the bottom of the hosel.
Can't help with a replacement other than to tell
your guy to rent a scuba outfit.
