I'm not sure I understand your question(s). Do you mean that the 3 iron has no ferrule at all? And I'm not sure what you mean by "sleeve". Further, I assume you're measuring from above the tip (.365") to the bottom of the shaft. As I recall, the hosel diameter is about .410" or thereabouts.

I reinstalled a Black Cat 3 iron shaft about 4 months ago. I used a standard 1/2" long, .370" iron ferrule which I reamed out, heated, and forced on. It was a pain to get on the tip but it worked. Be careful to clean out the hosel to the correct depth. A couple of these I've seen have had a lot of epoxy still in the bottom of the hosel.

Can't help with a replacement other than to tell your guy to rent a scuba outfit.

Subject: ShopTalk: LYNX FLARE SHAFTS

Has anyone done any repairs on the Lynx Black Cat irons w/ the Dynamic Flare tip shafts? A customer has brought in a 3I to reinstall the head back onto the shaft, and the 4I shaft without the head, (it has flew off and into the pond in front of him). Questions I have are 1- the 4I shaft has a tapered ferrule on the tip of the shaft and the 3I shafts does not. Do I need to pull that ferrule (or sleeve) off the 4I shaft to use to reinstall the 3I head or could I somehow shim the tip of the 3I shaft to make the head fit snug? The taper measurements are .365" up to .423".  2- Does anyone have or know where I could get a replacement 4I L/H head or if I need to make him a new 4I,something similar to match his set?   I have called the club scouter and club finder recourses, with no luck. As always, TIA. For those who have responded to some of my questions in the past, I apologize if I never get back to you with a thank you, as my life requires more than 24 hrs. in a day.
