I remember Maltby's Tandem irons had two weight ports that would accept up to 3 or 4 of his 1-gram 'coin'-shaped lead weights. Not too ugly, but you could easily adjust the head weight. On the other hand, moving the weight from one side to the other didn't seem to have too much of a perceptible effect.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Ralph Maltby have both iron and wood heads with replaceable weighting systems many years back?  Ugly heads if I remember correctly.
