Dropbear does have a smaller footprint. However, on something as large as the gta0x devices, the footprint difference is really noise. To offer a datapoint, the SlugOS distro (built in OE using the same recipes we use for SHR, FSO, and Om) replaced dropbear with openssh. SlugOS runs on a device with a total of 32MB of ram, and 8MB of flash (yes, "MB", not "GB"). So if openssh fits on such a device with no problems, then any footprint difference with dropbear is completely noise on something as large as the gta0x hardware. > On the other hand it lacks some features that openssh has (x- > forwarding and sftp for example). In addition to those features, openssh is the defacto-standard, which means that documentation, hints, tips, and configuration information is widely and easily available. This is not the case with dropbear.
