So I have noticed that /etc/version and /etc/shr-version isn't updated on upgrades. For example the latest image on http://build.shr-project.org/shr- unstable/images/om-gta02/ is 20091124, I know I am current because opkg doesn't show any new updates but according to /etc/version and /etc/shr- version this is what I have
r...@om-gta02 ~ $ cat /etc/version 200911200853 r...@om-gta02 ~ $ cat /etc/shr-version Tag Name: pre-nov2009-core-updates VERSION: 214ca5592a29f4040c19711ad3ea1685cd238251 Branch: shr/merge Build Host: opmbuild Time Stamp: Fri, 20 Nov 2009 09:07:30 +0100 I don't know if this is done by design, but I think this makes troubleshooting and bug reports useless because the first thing that will come to mind is "they are not up to date" -- "We must plan for freedom, and not only for security, if for no other reason than only freedom can make security more secure."
