an idea i have heard people talk about, but never seen implemented is a smart timeout for dimming/blanking. start with an initial timeout of 30 seconds. after the timeout has elapsed, have a special period of maybe 5 second. if the user pokes the screen in this special period, then they probably did not want the screen to blank (maybe the are reading or watching something), so increase the timeout. if they did not poke the screen in the special period, then they were happy with the blanking, so shorten the timeout. have limits at each end eg, so it can't go below 10 seconds or above 5 mins sam _______________________________________________ Shr-User mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shr-project.org/mailman/listinfo/shr-user
