It's a nice idea, for too much hassle for something not *that* useful,
because when you are reading you will probably ask the screen (either
automatically or manually).
A nice feature (that e also has) is: if someone touched the screen
immediately after going to dim, this probably means he's doing something, so
a popup opens and asks
if he wants to request the screen resource (terminology is different in e,
but it's the same idea.)
