Hi Jordi, I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with Orbit, we take these seriously because our aim is to enhance, not worsen, the user experience.
Although we have done numerous feedback sessions with Admins, Moderators and super users in the community, we always need more feedback. Orbit uses the new Mailman 3 Hyperkitty archiver, which does organize and display information differently than the old system. The new system groups posts by thread, similar to forums and other web-based communities. This is intended to make it easier for users to find top-level conversations they're interested in. We do acknowledge that the new archiver lacks some of the views available in the old system, such as the flat list of posts. Enhancing the archive view pages with improved filters and views is already in the workplan for next year. In the meantime, to quickly locate your own posts, you can: - Use the search function on the left, or - Click on your profile to view all your posts, or - Navigate to the specific thread where your post is located. Regarding the need to log in to Orbit, our goal is twofold: to keep the public information open and linkable, and to allow users to engage via a web interface, not just by email. This is especially appealing to the younger generation. To ensure a level of accountability, we have an identity management system in place. Our APNIC Login doesn't enforce two-factor authentication (2FA) unless you access sensitive areas like the resource manager or participate in elections. If you wish to disable 2FA, you can do so in your personal settings. Siena and I would like to buy you a coffee and hear more about your experience (the good, bad and ugly) of Orbit at APNIC 56 if you have time? Similarly, if you or anyone else has additional feedback, please feel free to reach out to us directly at [email protected] or [email protected]. _______________________________________________ SIG-policy - https://mailman.apnic.net/[email protected]/ To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
